Francis Fukuyama in Bratislava

On June 8-9, 2026, American political scientist, political economist and expert on international relations, author of numerous book publications, essays and articles, Professor Francis Fukuyama, a senior researcher at Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, visited Bratislava. His stay in the capital city of Slovakia was organized by the Open Society Foundation (OSF) and the Institute for Public Affairs (IVO). 

Professor F. Fukuyama lectured and discussed the topics of global challenges as part of a series of lectures dedicated to liberal democracy at the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University. The event, which took place in the library of the Historical Seminar, was moderated by Professor Jozef Bátora from the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University, and was attended by students and teachers of Comenius University and representatives of broader audience. 

On the platform of OSF and IVO, the world-famous author also participated in a meeting of experts from the two aforementioned organizations, as well as from the SFPA, the Department of Political Science of Faculty of Arts, and the NEST Institute. 

During his stay, F. Fukuyama gave interviews to representatives of the Slovak media.
