Russia’s war against Ukraine in the mirror of social networks in the V4
Four Central European think tanks – Political Capital (Budapest, project leader), the Institute for Public Affairs (Bratislava), the Prague Institute for Security Studies (Prague) and Sastre Consulting (Warsaw) – analyzed in February-March 2022 the so-called inauthentic online behavior in connection with Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
The research was focused on the involvement of various groups involved in inauthentic online behavior. These were attempts to influence discussions on social networks by copying the same text under several Facebook posts.
The research showed that most of the reports disseminated in the V4 countries were in the interests of the Kremlin, but the situation was different in Slovakia. In inauthentic online behavior on Facebook during the Russian-Ukrainian War, Slovaks proved to be more pro-Western than Hungarians, Czechs and Poles.
