Zora Bútorová and Martin Bútora on November 1989 and presence

On November 4, 2025, IVO analyst Zora Bútorová analyzed the situation in today's Slovakia and the changes after November 1989 on Radio Slovakia International (audio version of the show). 

On November 14, 2025, Zora Bútorová participated in a discussion entitled "Sounds of Democracy", which was held on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution at the cultural center Hviezda in Trenčín. The discussion was moderated by Michal Havran. The discussion panel also included writer Rudolf Dobiáš, a political prisoner of the communist regime; Josef Halla, a historian from the Institute of National Memory (ÚPN) and Branislav Jobus, an author and musician from the band Karpatské chrbáty.

On November 17, 2025, Zora Bútorová and Martin Bútora, honorary president of IVO, debated with students of Juraj Hronec Gymnasium about the Velvet Revolution, life under communism, the course of the Velvet Revolution and developments after the fall of communism. The discussion was organized by the Milan Šimečka Foundation at the Rómer House on Zámočnícká in Bratislava.
