Local democracy in Slovakia: Improving skills of local leaders

Supported by: British Embassy. 

Project span: October 2025 – March 2026. 

Project team: Miroslav Kollár, Grigorij Mesežnikov, Ján Bartoš, Martin Slosiarik. 

Objective: The project aim is to improve the abilities/skills of local (communal and regional) leaders involved in policy making process in western, central and eastern part of the country by conducting workshops with prominent experts (sociologist, political scientist, expert on local self-government). Subjects of the workshops will include the key issues related to successful performance of local policies on the initial (politics) and executive (policies) stages. 

Activities: Project will include 3 regional workshops in Slovakia’s western, central and eastern parts for leaders involved into communal and regional politics.
