Discussion on European elections with European journalists

On May 17, 2019, Grigorij Mesežnikov took part in discussion organized by the Association of European Journalists (AEJ) in Bratislava as a part of the session of statutory body of this pan-European journalist association.

The main topics of discussion included the current situation in the EU member states before the upcoming elections to the European Parliament, in particular the competition between pro-European democratic forces and populist, nationalist and Eurosceptic forces, as well as the role of the standard media in informing the public about the diverse aspects of European integration and in neutralizing the disinformation content of the so-called “alternative“ media platforms.

MEPs Jana Žitňanska and Eduard Kukan as well as deputy director of the European Parliament's Office in Slovakia Dionýz Hochel discussed with IVO president. The debate was moderated by Otmar Lahodinsky (president of the AEJ, Austria).
