Views of Slovak and Czech public on division of Czechoslovakia and the emergence of independent states

Cooperating organizations: Public Opinion Research Center at the Institute of Sociology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, FOCUS Agency  

 

Objective: The aim of the project is to analyze the findings of a representative public opinion poll conducted in October 2017 in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia and compare its results with the results of surveys carried out in the previous period. Respondents in both republics were asked to assess the division of Czechoslovakia and the establishment of independent republics in the context of other historical events (establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918, Velvet Revolution of 1989, accession to the EU in 2004).
