The results of local election and decentralization of Ukraine
On the 18th of November 2015, Grigorij Mesežnikov participated in Kiev in a roundtable discussion The Results of the Local Elections: Prospects of Decentralization, organised by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation (DIF) in cooperation with the Information Agency UKRINFORM. In his speech, the President of IVO presented the Slovak Republic’s experiences with decentralization and reforms of the public administration, and the importance of election rules in the constitution of local and regional self-government bodies. The roundtable was attended by Iryna Bekeshkina – director of DIF, Yuriy Hanushchak – expert for decentralization and Olexandr Solontay – an expert of the Institute for Political Education.
