Conference on the enemies of freedom in Budapest

On 25-26 November, 2013, Grigorij Mesežnikov participated in the conference Enemies of freedom. Scapegoating ideologies, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and counter-narratives. The event was organized in Budapest by think-tank Political Capital Institute and magazine Szombat (Jewish Political and Cultural Review) within international project identifying the ground of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and extremism in Hungary, France, Poland, Slovakia and Norway. The conference was held at the premises of British Embassy in Hungary with the support of European Jewish Fund, International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and OSI Think Tank Fund. In his contribution, IVO president spoke about historic and socio-political sources of conspiracy theories in Slovakia in the context of social transformation, building of independent national state, manifestations of nationalism, racism and anti-Semitism in country’s public and political.
