International conference on current issues of the world economy and politics

On 5 December, 2013, the 14th annual international conference “International Relations: Current Issues of World Economics and Politics” was held in Smolenice. It was organized by the Faculty of International Relations of University of Economics (Bratislava) in cooperation with Taipei Representative Office in Bratislava and Slovak Association for the United Nations. Grigorij Mesežnikov spoke at the conference’s plenary opening session. Topic of his contribution included the basic characteristics of the process of democratization in Taiwan as a part of the third wave of democratization in the world.  IVO president also took part in the section dealing with recent developments in the South-East Asia’s region with a contribution about development of civil society in Taiwan.
