The impact of European integration on democratic transformation of Slovakia and Ukraine

The Institute for Public Affairs and PASOS (Policy Association for an Open Society) published study written by Maria Zolkina, expert of the Kiev-based think tank Democratic Initiatives Foundation, entitled The Impact of Europeanization on Democratic Transformations: The Cases of Slovakia and UkraineAuthor analyzes the process of Slovakia’s accession to the European Union and the impact of Euro-integration process to the implementation of internal democratic reforms. Ukrainian expert examines the wider opportunities for application of Slovakia’s experience in the context of current efforts of Ukraine in reaching the association with the EU. 

Study has been prepared during author’s stay in  the Institute for Public Affairs in Bratislava in August – September 2013 in the framework of Ilko Kucheriv Democracy Partnership Programme, supported by PASOS and National Endowment for Democracy (Washington, DC).
