IVO on 2009 Presidential Elections in Slovakia

Objective: The project aims at providing the public with the reflection on the various aspects of 2009 presidential elections in Slovakia (constitutional context of the direct elections of ‘the head of the state’, historical experience, constitutional powers of the President of the Slovak Republic, social significance of the President, candidates’ profiles, factors of electoral behavior, voting outcomes, character of public debate etc.). In the special section of the IVO webpage (‘IVO on 2009 Presidential Elections in Slovakia’), the expert articles and reports on the issue published in various Slovak and foreign media or written originally for IVO will be collected and advertised. Besides, IVO seeks to organize live TV expert discussions and, after the elections, to release an analytical publication containing selected reports.
