Group of Ukrainian experts visited Bratislava on May, 11 – 15 2008. The study trip was one of activities within the project Endorsing the Transatlantic Debate, Promoting Transatlantic Values, and Strengthening Euro-Atlantic Vector in Ukraine supported by the German Marshall Found of the US.
The Ukrainian guests met with representatives from the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, journalists, NGO community, and think-tanks. The subject of the meetings and discussions was the Slovak experience of the EU and NATO integration process and questions concerning cooperation between Slovak and Ukrainian analysts. The group of experts - composed of Ilko Kusheriv, analyst and director of the Democratic Initiative Foundation (DIF), Iryna Bekeshkina, DIF sociologist, Dmytro Shulga, project manager of Renesans Foundation, and Jurij Horbaň, journalist and publicist – gave also a presentation entitled Ukraine’s Euro Atlantic Ambitions after the NATO Summit in Bucharest, on 13 May 2008 at the Slovak Foreign Policy Association, followed by an intense discussion.
