IVO experts on Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic prospects

On 9 April 2008 IVO analysts Martin Bútora and Grigorij Mesežnikov participated in the press conference Ukraine’s prospects in the context of the NATO Bucharest summit results – a Slovak point of view. The event held at the UKRINFORM press agency was organised by the Democratic Initiative Foundation (DIF) and included participation from Urban Rusnák, Slovak ambassador to Ukraine and Iľko Kučeriv, director of DIF, who presented their opinion on Ukraine’s perspectives of obtaining and invitation to the NATO Membership Action Plan.  IVO experts concentrated on the importance of European and Euro-Atlantic integration for the process of internal reforms, the experience of Slovakia with the preparation for the NATO membership, the possibilities of sharing this experience in other candidate countries, including Ukraine, and the cooperation between Slovak and Ukrainian think-tanks.
