IVO experts in Dnipropetrovs’k and Kiev about Euro Atlantic integration

Oľga Gyárfášová, IVO programme director, and Grigorij Mesežnikov, IVO President, took part in a round table discussion held on 24 June 2008 in Dnipropetrovs’k. The event entitled Slovak experience of the NATO integration process was organised by the Centre for Euroantlantic Integration (CEI) and Democratic Initiative Foundation (DIF) in cooperation with IVO. In addition to IVO experts the speakers included Attila Szep, political counsellor to the Slovak Embassy in Ukraine, and Iľko Kučeriv, director of DIF. The discussion, in which Ukrainian experts, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organisations and students took part, was hosted by CEI director Ms. Tatiana Brežneva. During their stay in Ukraine (Kiev and Dnipropetrovs’k) the IVO analysts met with representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vidrodžennia Foundation, DIF, CEI, media group Glavred,  information and analysis agency Pridneprovie as well as NATO representatives to Ukraine. They also gave interviews to several Ukrainian electronic and print media. The IVO experts’ visit was part of the one-year project Endorsing the Transatlantic Debate, Promoting Transatlantic Values, and Strengthening Euro-Atlantic Vector in Ukraine which is supported by the German Marshall Found of the US.
