Top opposition leader of Belarus Mr. Alexander Milinkievic (in March 2006 the joint candidate of the United Democratic Forces for the post of president) and his wife Mrs. Ina Kulei, civic activist, introduced a book Славацкая надзея: досвед дэмакратычных трансфармацый. Браціслава - Мінск, 2006 (Slovak Hope. Lessons Learnt from Democratic Transformation in Slovakia) which has been prepared, co-authored, and edited by the Institute for Public Affairs. The editors are Martin Bútora, Grigorij Mesežnikov, and Miroslav Kollár.
In December 2006, Mr. Milinkievic and Mrs. Kulei briefly visited Bratislava on route to Strasbourg where Mr. Milinkevich received the European Parliament's Andrei Sakharov Freedom Award.
The introduction of this unique book took place symbolically on the Day of Human Rights – December 10.
