Objective: To evaluate development in the country during the first months after the 2002 parliamentary elections; to find out how this development is perceived by the public, and how it is approached by political actors and the media.

Outputs:

A representative sociological research project titled "100 days of the Dzurinda Government" was carried out in cooperation with the International Republican Institute and the FOCUS Agency.

Conference: "First Months of the Government of the Slovak Republic: the public, political actors, media" held in Bratislava on March 27, 2003. The participants of the conference included sociologists, economists, political scientists, and journalists from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

Publication: Slovakia After the Elections: public opinion, political actors, media. A compilation of 12 contributions presented at the seminar about citizen perception of the developments in the country a couple of months after the parliamentary elections. The compilation also covers the activities of political parties and their strategies in the process of preparation and implementation of reforms, communication with the public, and the activities of the media. The publication is available in the Slovak and English languages.
