Annotation

An output of the project called Values and Identity in the Process of Enlarging the Transatlantic Community: Case of Slovakia, the publication examines the position of the Slovak public and political players on select foreign policy issues. Its particular chapters describe the image of the USA among the Slovak public as the leader of the North Atlantic cooperation, university students’ views of foreign policy relations and attitudes of political players to the complex situation in international relations after September 11, 2001. Particularly interesting is an analysis that evaluates the coverage of American foreign policy by Slovak periodical press and displays of anti-Americanism in Slovak media. The book is a collection of studies elaborated through secondary analysis of representative public opinion polls’ findings, qualitative research in the form of focus groups, analysis of attitudes and performance of political parties and content analysis of the most influential periodicals.
