30 years of Slovak security and defense policy

Project span: August – December 2023. 

Project team:  Grigorij Mesežnikov, Ján Bartoš, Vladimír Tarasovič, Matej Kandrík, Juraj Sykora and others. 

Cooperating organizations: Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA), Adapt Institute. 

Objective:  The aim of the project is to analyze the key milestones, developments, successes and failures of Slovak security and defense policy over the past thirty years. As no comprehensive research in this field has been published so far, the project seeks to fill the gap on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Slovak Republic. 

The publication will provide the professional and general public with an expert view of the development in the field of defense and security since 1993 in various aspects (general aspects of the development of security and defense policy, the development of the armed forces, international cooperation in the field of defense and security, security threats and challenges, issues of civil-military relations, public opinion on security and defense issues).
