Objective: To provide the professional community and general audience, actors of social and political life as well as foreign scholars dealing with self-government in Slovakia with a comprehensive analytical information on two decades of self-governing regions’ development in Slovakia’s democratic system and to indicate key challenges for effective (optimal) functioning of country’s regional self-government in the future.
