Annotation

Bilingual publication analyzing the dynamic development of relations between Taiwan and individual EU member states, as well as with the EU as a whole, which took place at the end of 2021.

The publication addresses Taiwan’s specific position in the system of international relations and the factors that influence the country’s bilateral relations with EU member states in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as with the EU itself. It provides an overview of the activities that forwarded these relations to the next level in the autumn of 2021 in terms of their intensity and overall scope (mutual assistance in the fight against COVID19, visits by Taiwan trade delegations and senior officials in the selected Central and Eastern European countries and visits of representatives of these states in Taiwan, signing bilateral documents on cooperation in various areas).

The subject of the analysis is mainly the events concerning Taiwan’s relations with Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, as well as current developments related to Taiwan-EU relations. The publication contains an overview of the reflection of the mentioned events by the Slovak media at the end of 2021.
