New article on ЕU‘s and Russia’s policies towards Belarus

Visegrad Insight magazine published essay written by IVO president Grigorij Mesežnikov about current developments in Belarus and EU’s and Russia’s reactions to them. While European Union supported Belarusian people in their fight for freedom and independent democratic statehood and rejected to recognize the legitimacy of Alexander Lukashenko who openly falsified the result of elections and brutally suppresses the peoples’ protests, Putin’s Russia took a side of dictatorial regime and is doing everything in its capacities to save the dictator and thus to keep further its own geopolitical dominance over the country.

The essay is published as part of the Prospect Foundation project “Online Media Literacy for Editors and Administrators of Social Media Public Pages”, managed by iSANS and supported through grants from the International Visegrad Fund. A Russian version of this essay is available on iSANS.org.
