Annotation
The aim of the book is to capture some of the country-specific traits in foreign policy of select countries which are both EU and NATO members. These traits are shaped by political actors who are in turn influenced by cultural, historical aspects, as well as various interests and influences, including each country’s ambitions within EU.
To help understand these forces and influences, the Institute for Public Affairs has invited renowned scholars from Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, United States and Visegrád countries – Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia – to discuss policies, strategies and effects of decisions made in foreign policy. The topics under discussion ranged from EU integration (transnational party effects on political actors in accession countries) to the Iraq crisis and responses of political elites and publics, as well as reflections on the future course of the EU’s foreign and security policy.
The book contains Slovak articles and the same articles in English.
