Volunteerism plays an important role in contemporary life, as it attempts to provide solidarity within society. The film ‘Volunteers” offers portraits of various volunteers, and maps the differing forms of volunteerism throughout Slovakia. The work provokes thought about values such as COMMON GOOD, FREEDOM, and INCONSPICUOSNESS OF VOLUNTEERS which transcend motivations based on monetary compensation.
