Infodemic 2020

The Budapest-based think-tank Political Capital, in cooperation with the Institute for Public Affairs (Slovakia), the Prague Institute for Security Studies (Czeck Republic) and the Sastre Consulting Center (Poland), has published a new analytical study The V4’s coronavirus infodemic. A window of opportunity to spread distrust in the West. The authors of the study examine the spread of disinformation-conspiracy narratives in Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, especially in the environment of social networks in the period of the corona-crisis and the first wave of the COVID19. They characterize the activities of local disseminators of toxic contents as a concentrated attack on the West, especially the EU.
