IVO Presented the Book Where Are We? Mental Maps of Slovakia

The Institute for Public Affairs (IVO) and the Kalligram Publishing House released a book Where Are We? Mental Maps of Slovakia, in which forty authors track down the development of the country after November 1989. Supported by the Foundation SPP, the Open Society Foundation (NOS-OSF), the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the British Embassy in Slovakia, the book was presented by the  authors, publishers and  editors in four cities – Bratislava, Piešťany, Komárno and Košice.


The editor and honorable president of the IVO, Martin Bútora, together with the head of the Kalligram Publishing House Lázsló Szigeti, introduced the book at the official premiere in Bratislava on January 26th, 2010.


Later in the same evening, the authors of the publication organized a presentation and a discussion with the members of the Rotary Club in the Art Jazz Gallery in Piešťany.


In Komárno the presentation was held on January 28th, 2010. It was supported by the Faculty of Education of János Selye University and the Farkas Kempelen Society.


In Košice, the presentation was organized at the State Scientific Library on January 29th, 2010 and supported by the Slovak Political Institute.
