European elections are approaching. Did you already try EUVOX?

EUVOX is EU-wide voting advice application (VAA) for the 2014 elections to the European Parliament. The purpose of EUVOX is to help citizens to select the political party that best matches their own policy preferences and enable them to have quick access to information about the positions of all parties in these crucial elections. The project is currently being designed and will be eventually implemented by a consortium of researchers based on Kieskompas and PreferenceMatcher, two experienced organizations in the field of VAAs that have designed many such tools across four continents. In addition, Kieskompas has co-designed EU Profiler, winner of the 2009 eDemocracy award. EUVOX is sponsored financially by the Open Society Initiative for Europe (European Elections 2014) and the Directorate-General for Communication of the European Parliament (area of internet-based activities/online media – 2014).

Slovak Country Team is lead by the sociologist Olga Gyarfasova, PR and media manager in Jan Glovicko. Among the coders of 10 most relevant political parties in Slovakia were Karen Henderson, University in Leicester, Grigorij Mesežnikov, IVO and Erik Láštic, Comenius University.

Voting advice application can be found at its official webpage euvox2014.eu.

The Slovak version of the EUVOX has been introduced (from left) by Ján Glovičko (media expert and PR manager of the EUVOX), Oľga Gyárfášová (sociologist and the leader of the academic part of the project), Zora Jaurová (former art director of the project Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013) and Robert Hajšel (Head of the EP Information Office in Slovakia).
