Visit of Cuban activists in IVO

On 25 September, 2013, group of Cuban democratic activists visited the Institute for Public Affairs. At the meeting with IVO president Grigorij Mesežnikov the members of the group Dagoberto Valdés Hernández, editor of bi-monthly internet review Convivencia, Livia Gálvez Chiu, Maikel Iglesias Rodríguez and Rosalia Viňas Lazo described activities of Cuban democratic activists in the area of development of civil society, human rights, free dissemination of information, civic education on values ​​of freedom and democracy. They expressed their interest to learn more about experience of Slovakia and other Central European countries with democratic transformation, socio-economic and political reforms and integration into the EU. Visit was a part of study trip organized by civic association People in Perils.
