Assistance to Ukraine in increasing public awareness about NATO: Slovakia’s experience II.

Objective:


Project aims to assist Ukrainian NGOs, but also other public actors, to raise Ukrainian public’s awareness towards the integration into NATO, especially in the regions with least support for the NATO accession.

Slovak team – composed of experts in political science, sociology, and public opinion polling and communication, as well as security issues - is going to organize workshops and trainings in several Ukrainian regions. All these experts were actively involved in integration processes in Slovakia and in addition they have rich experiences in working with Ukrainian NGOs.

Main activities:

  • Regional conferences and round table discussions (in regional centers of east and south-east Ukraine).
  • Training for opinion leaders (above all journalists and NGOs representatives) in (in regional centers of east and south-east Ukraine).

The project is a continuation of the 2007 project with similar objectives, which has had very good impact and echo in Ukraine. Consortium of NGOs (IVO, RC SFPA, CENAA) conducted seminars and lecturers in Odessa, Simferopol, and Kiev.
