Japanese professor Tomonori Yoshizaki lectured at the Institute for Public Affairs

On January 31, 2006 the presentation of professor Tomonori Yoshizaki Current Foreign, Security and Defense Policy of Japan: Basic Course and New Challenges was held at the Institute for Public Affairs. Prof. Tomonori Yoshizaka is a chief of the 5th Research Office of the National Institute for Defense Studies, Ministry of Defense, Japan. In his lecture he  focused on evaluation of changes in security environment in East Asia and Far East, characterized Japan’s relationship with USA, China and Russia and described Japan’s stance on multilateral negotiations around North Korea’s nuclear ambitions. Experts from the Institute for Public Affairs, Slovak Foreign Policy Association, Centre for European and North Atlantic Affairs and Institute of Political Science of the Slovak Academy of Science participated in the follow-up discussion.
