Objective: To continually analyze the basic development trends in society, as well as the problem areas and public opinion in Slovakia . The project is based on representative sociological research carried out on an adult sample of the population of the Slovak Republic based on the following selection criteria: sex, age, education level attained, nationality, size of the city/town. The research focuses on such topics as the perception of the most important problems in the society; evaluation of the direction the society is heading; perception of the past and present regime; value and economic orientations; political preferences and sympathies; perception of political parties and the level of confidence in politicians and institutions in the society; ethnic relations; views of “the rules of the game”; foreign-political positions and preferences; views of historical events and periods; viewership of the media; and socio-cultural capital (language skills, contact with foreign countries).
